Project VIP (Volunteer In Public Service)
– Connecting Students to the Society
This is our new initiative that we launched at PCT in the new year (2015). The idea is very close to what you see in USA (Volunteer In Police Service) where the police recruit general public to volunteer for patrolling in some areas.
The goal of this project is to connect the school children & college students to the society around us for a mutual benefit.
We hope to develop VIPS (as a group) in each school, junior college, degree college and professional colleges who sign up with PCT. Based on their availability, area of interest (education, health care, environmental, road safety, women empowerment,…….) PCT will engage them into various projects and events. Once we streamline the process, each VIP will be provided with an ID Card, CAP/T-Shirt, Appreciation Certificate, Training/Workshops conducted by PCT in MS Office Basics, Communication Skills, Personality Development Sessions.
We currently have VIPs signed up from JNTU College of Engineering , Rangaraya Medical College and Parivarthana (home for the street children) in Kakinada. More will be joining shortly.
Please share your thoughts on this project. There seem to be a lot of potential to use the youth power around us in an effective way.
